I left Munich at 5:30 yesterday and was home by 9:30. Shortly after, a team member called: Sven, check the IT news.
The news was PHP2Shell, rated 9.2/10, and a considerable part of our services runs on PHP. The team did a fantastic job preparing PRs, and once the fixed container images were ready shortly before 4 pm, they started the deployments. We decided to take the affected sites offline for the redeploy, and we were back shortly after 6 pm. I just didn’t feel comfortable leaving our apps and services out there online while the exploit was available.
All-Inkl, my host for this blog, needed until midnight to roll out the new PHP versions, so this blog was offline until this morning. Sorry if you encountered a maintenance page.
I took this photo the evening before. The Sony a6400 isn’t great in the dark, I lost focus once, and I liked that result better than my other photos of the Olympic Tower.
