Forty

I turned 40 today and took the day off, the rest of the week as well. For the special occasion the boys stayed home too and we made pancakes for breakfast for everyone.

After breakfast Tilian, Kellin and I went to the cinema to see Shaun the Sheep. It was a bit spooky for Kellin but he did well, it took him a lot of concentration to sit through a 90-minute movie. I didn’t bring a camera to the movies for the daily photo, I could not have explained in a convincing manner why I would have one with me.

Later we had a hot dog buffet for everyone and a nap, and in the evening we went for a walk at sunset as a family. The sun was going down, so the Canon tele lens was pushed to its limits.

Looking forward to the rest of the week. There are rumours that Nadine is throwing a party on Friday. People are really bad at keeping secrets.

Nadine also gave me a huge fire bowl for my birthday, finally a proper one, solid metal with handles, and I can’t wait to test it in the coming days. Maybe at the surprise party? Exciting!
