Two Cameras

I went out this morning with both cameras, the two bird shots from the Canon and the frost on the bridge from the Sony.

The frost shot is not sharp, which is on me, but the color rendering is still noticeably better than what I get from the Canon. The Canon is always fitted with the telephoto lens, which limits the overall image quality, and I do not want to carry multiple lenses. So the practical answer for me is to bring both cameras.

I also spent a good part of today working on Hypo. Jasper gave me useful input, and the result is noticeably better. Over the last few days I have been using it for all my imports. With today’s improvements I focused on performance of loading a large set of images, fast image comparison, and better metadata handling (spoiler: auto focus pinning), and I will write more about that soon. Notarization with Apple is still not complete, but I have local signing with my official Apple developer account, which makes the app installable for others.
