Scammed
Last week I did not pay attention and entered my personal data with pictures of my travel passport into a fake UK government website to request my ETA for my forthcoming trip. Call me an official idiot.
It dawned on me this morning after speaking to a friend who recently travelled to UK, we joked about the ETA process and I said it’s super expensive, he replied - no, actually not. So he paid £20, I paid £130 and my personal data.
I spent my morning filing a police report and visiting residents’ registration office to obtain a new express travel passport. Fingers crossed it will be there next week so I can get my ETA. A few minutes after I arrived home today, easyJet was so nice to send me a reminder to get my ETA with a link to the UK GOV website. I should have just waited another week.
