Visit

My grandmother is finally out of hospital and in a retirement home, so the boys and I went to visit her. I took half the day off and we spent time together. It is an overall modern place, with decentralized living rooms, a lobby and a green outdoor area, suitable for less mobile elderly people.

In my memory, conversations with my grandparents centered around the past, this time it was a lot more in the present, how the boys are doing, what is ahead for them and how we can support my grandmother in her new reality.
