Parasol

Today was a busy uneventful day. I took Kellin to get a large batch of beverages for the week, there is a Kaufland that now and then stocks drinks we do not get in our local supermarket, this week: German cider (“Apfelwein”), various IPAs and a pre-mixed Margarita. With Kellin there’s the number 1 rule, you go with him in the store and 15 minutes later he needs to pee. You can not avoid this. So we abandoned the cart, completed the job and went back in.

After lunch I went to Calumet in Leipzig to chat with them about the various RF lenses I tested (16mm, 24-50mm, 50mm) and how unsatisfied I’ve been with the off-center sharpness. They were nice enough (it is their job so not extra points) to take the RF lenses and an EF lens I brought along in trade for the RF 24-105 F4 I have been eyeing for a while. Unfortunately the trade-in system did not work and I need to get back next week to collect the money.

As one drive to Leipzig wasn’t enough, in the afternoon I drove my sister to the Highfield festival, around 30,000 people go there every year and this one is likely the last for a while. I saw a few roadsurfer vans on the camping ground next to the festival, I do not envy the station staff who need to clean these. I should have taken the number plates to review the damage log once they are returned.

While I was driving around in the afternoon, Nadine and the boys enjoyed their time in the popup pool. I tested the new RF lens quickly on a parasol, it’s too early to judge how well it works for me, expect upcoming daily photos to be from the RF 24-105 F4.
