Hotel

Back in Bavaria close to Munich for a two-day strategy offsite. When I joined trivago in 2016, and ever since at Appsfactory, Delivery Hero and now roadsurfer, I have been routinely traveling inside and outside of Germany.

The bag came from Delivery Hero’s internal shop, where you could redeem kudos points from coworkers. I spent mine on this duffel.

I enjoy the little break from the daily routines and change of scenery, yet it means being away from family, which works as long as it’s consensual (would be crazy if not!). Having a job where I work from home and can’t travel routinely to meet team and peers would feel like a miss.

I have this little tradition my father introduced because he was away most of the time when I was a child. He always brought back a small gift of the same type, kept it simple and defaulted to Lego. For my kids it’s always a book and a little toy car. We have a lot of books and toy cars by now.
