Flugplatz Böhlen

This week the 34. Deutsche Meisterschaft im Ultraleichtfliegen takes place at a local airport (Flugplatz Böhlen). There has been visibly more activity in the air over the last days, so the boys and I went over after finding out there is free training before the championships.

We snooped around and asked one of the staff if we could get closer to the machines. To our luck we got a personal tour around the place, got close to airplanes during taxi and looked into cockpits. There were a dozen airplanes standing around with another dozen expected tomorrow when the championships officially commence.

I took a lot more photos but was not happy with lighting and background sharpness, so these are only the ones I liked best:
