Family Matters

The weekend was demanding, a lot of turbulence in the family around my grandmother who is finally leaving the hospital, and it is astonishing how much a single change like that moves the whole structure of a family, with new tasks, new expectations, and less room left for everyone.

The goldfinches I shot with the Canon RF 1.4x teleconverter on, the kestrel below without it. I am testing the converter at the moment, the first day brought no usable frames at all, the second one got better after I moved the shutter speed from 1/2000 to 1/4000, because the stabilization is only half as effective with the converter on. The higher aperture values push the ISO very high as well, so I am undecided whether I keep it.
