Winter Vacation (Pt. 3)
Up at 5. Getting better.
The morning went into picking photos for the day two post and getting it out. I also spent some time before breakfast fixing the blog’s deploy pipeline. The GitHub Action was running almost four minutes per build because Hugo kept regenerating all images from scratch. Missing cache, as always, but I got it down to about 45 seconds which felt pretty good for a vacation morning.
Nadine, her mom and Tilian headed to the slopes after breakfast. It’s Tilian’s first day in ski school this week and he’s in the advanced group. The course runs until Thursday, when there’s a final race at the top of the mountain for all the school groups. I’m already planning the shots.
My father-in-law and I took Kellin sledding at the Ahornbahn. He only lasted three runs before his cold caught up with him, so we started heading back.

On the way back we ended up at the paraglider landing zone and watched a few come in. I got talking to Mario from Paragliding Mayrhofen who, after spotting Aika, told me he does tandem flights with dogs. Up to 13 kg though. Aika is about double that, so no luck there. We exchanged numbers and I sent him a few of the landing photos later.

Quick stop at the pharmacy to stock up on cold medicine. Prices here are roughly double what we’d pay back home. Kellin had a fever and spent most of the afternoon on the couch. We cooked, rested, and I called it an early night.
