Today was a smart home day. One of the outdoor CCTV cams had been unreliable ever since we put it up, so we replaced it with an Eufy outdoor cam. It integrates seamlessly into Apple HomeKit through a rather outdated Eufy HomeBase 2, but it does the trick. Quite a bit more challenging was the installation of a smart lock. We chose Nuki after a months long search: we wanted Apple HomeKit integration, wifi, Apple Home Key with NFC, fingerprint, PIN, and no signup required. The setup was straightforward, we needed to invest 50€ in a new lock cylinder with a specific configuration (30/50mm) from the local locksmith. Nadine said buy local and it was a good decision, given it was not a standard size.
