Excursion
The local NABU chapter called me late in the afternoon, out of the blue, asking if I wanted to join a trip in their “Treffpunkt Naturschutzdienst” format, this time to the grazing project at the “Aufschlussgraben”, Werben. It is a closed-off area meant to restore local wildlife and serve as a compensation area for the heavily farmed fields around it. The big tease was the breeding ground of 50 bee-eater couples, a bird I aspire to photograph.

In the end I saw a few of them chasing through the sky, but I never got a close one. What I did manage to capture was a long-tailed tit.
