Mühltal

Nadine was away for the last weekend of her Wildnispädagogik training. The boys and I spent the morning at the Mühltal.

Tilian spent most of the time off the main path, finding slopes to take his mountain bike down. My plan to get him started on road cycling this summer is not going well. I have not given up yet.

Kellin rode his balance bike for about ten seconds. After that I carried it. Not bringing it was never an option, he would have felt left out.

I know the Mühltal from many childhood outings with my parents. As a kid I found it very boring, and now as a parent I understand. We walked past three mills and stopped at every playground along the way.

Before we left I finally cleaned the sensor on Nadine’s Canon EOS 2000D myself. I had been noticing dust spots on photos for the last few days and kept putting it off. It was easier than expected and I noticed the difference in today’s shots immediately.

The woodpecker took about five minutes to photograph. They never stay still, and the moment they notice you, they move to the other side of the tree.

We stopped at La Vini at the entrance to the Mühltal and were back home by noon.
